About me
I am a seasoned higher education professional with over two decades of experience in managing and expanding Federal TRIO programs. As the Director of the Office of Academic Opportunity Programs at UMBC, I have secured over $14.6 million in TRIO funding, significantly increasing the reach and impact of these initiatives. As a whole, AOP supports over 1,200 students, focusing on first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students.
I am also a Ph.D. Candidate in Public Policy (expected Dec 2024) with a strong background in evaluation, analytical methods, and information technology. My research focuses on the pathway from undergraduate research to graduate school for Black, Hispanic, and low-SES students.
In addition to my full time role and being a grad student, , I am an active consultant and educator, providing essential training and mentoring to new TRIO directors nationwide.
