About me
Fourth-year psychology student on B.A research track minoring in sociology and women's, gender, and sexuality studies. Aspiring to obtain my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, I am primarily interested in the response of the brain and body to sexual traumatic experiences within women and ethnic populations. Meaning-making, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapy have been developed to prevent individuals from getting stuck in a cycle of replaying a traumatic event. In Clinical Psychology and Developmental psychology, there is a need to further investigate body and brain processes while survivors are experiencing their trauma. Through my research, I want to explore the cognitive and neural mechanisms of trauma, the effects it leaves on those who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorders, and design interventions to help sexual assault survivors cope with trauma.
